Doo-Sun Ryu: D.H. Lawrences The Rainbow and Women in Love. A Critical Study.
Doo-Sun Ryus study mainly focuses on D.H. Lawrences concept of essential criticism, which Lawrence first introduced in his Study of Thomas Hardy. Ryu endeavours to judge Lawrences novels by Lawrences own aesthetic standards, thereby attempting to ascertain whether Lawrence is a clumsy dogmatist or a shrewd artist and to show why the postmodernists are only partly correct about Lawrence.
